Culham Race Report.
Hey everyone, just letting you all know how today went for the first round of the Maxxis ACU British championship at Culham MX Park.
Qualifying- In qualifying i found a real good rhythm in free practice and was really enjoying the wet slick track. As the timed board went out i put in a fast lap and tensed up and made a good few mistakes, this lap put me in 11th. As i started another fast lap the bike stopped and that was the end of qualifying for me. I Qualified 11th.
Race 1- I was ready and fired up for race 1, after my race bike broke meaning i had to use my training bike. I got a mediocre start and got my way to 5th, stayed in and around the top 5 for most of the race. I pumped up quite bit and didn’t ride like i can and ended the race in a solid 6th.
Race 2- Race 2 i got a much better start, and quickly worked my way up to 3rd, then lost my rhythm and dropped off the top 3 riders by a few seconds, around 15 minutes into the race i found a rhythm and closed up on 3rd and 2nd position, and felt like i was in a position to make the passes. Then my bike stopped with 3 laps to go while i was running 4th battling for 2nd position, also while i was currently sat in 2nd overall spot on the day. Meaning i had a DNF.
Overall I’m super happy with my speed and fitness, and there is a lot of positives to take away from this weekend to work towards Round 2 at Lyng in three weeks time.
Thanks to all of my Sponsors for there support, and help. It wouldn’t be possible without you all!
